If it seems like there’s not much to this one then, yes, you’d be spot on.
The biggest issue you’ll face up here is traffic. It’s quite a busy road, especially in the summer when the tourists are out in force, milling about the place. That said, it does give you an opportunity: like Gold Hill in Shaftesbury1 this is one of those climbs which, to the untrained spectator, looks horrific, but, in reality isn’t actually much of a challenge at all. The reality here is that it’s a couple of hairpins and a pull to the top, then you’re done. Easy.
So, all you need to do to ensure fame and fortune2 is to put yourself in a reasonably small gear before the first bend, kinda half-close your eyes and then simply pedal like hell until your reach the top. You’ll be done in about a minute and well past the crest before you’ll have to break out the pain face. Boom!
The slope doesn’t change much, the bends don’t get in the way and it really is that straightforward.
Enjoy!
